A Bit About Me
I’m Niamh O’Shea – 23 year old masters student, originally from Cork, but studying Digital Marketing in Dublin City University, Ireland.
I must admit, writing a blog was never something I would have had the courage to do without a little push – and that’s certainly what my masters studies is! Now that I have started, I have no doubt I’m going to enjoy writing Urban Revival and I hope you enjoy reading it just as much!
What to expect from Urban Revival:
Urban Revival is about combining old and new. I’m a big believer of looking backwards in order to move forward. In my opinion you can’t improve anything or learn anything without first looking at what has been done before.
So that’s what you can expect form Urban Revival – an appreciation of what’s been done before as well as finding ways to incorporate the influences of the past with the trends of the present. In the same vein, Urban Revival revolves mostly around topics such as:
- Clothing – especially vintage. I want to share with you great places to shop as well as easy ways to revitalise and put your stamp on pre-loved clothes. As a fan of the classics, I also enjoy exploring fashion trends through the ages, the good, the bad and the ugly.
- Upcycling – the process of taking what is old and unused and revitalizing it by changing it into something new and useful. While I’m by no means a talented crafts-person, upcycling is a great way to find and make quirky and unique pieces with as much personality as you!
- Sustainability – I will also be taking a look at the effects of consumption of our world today, but my aim isn’t to bore you or lecture you with facts. On the contrary, I would like to take this jaded topic and find useful and easy ways we can positively impact the environment.
This is by no means an exhaustive list and I look forward to bringing you new and different blog posts every week.
